Eastern front (documentary film)

During the First World War, the eastern frontline saw fighting across around 1,000 miles. Now, despite years of political upheaval and a current war, international groups work to search for, repair, and remember what remains from this brutal conflict.

Short documentary film (16 mins) was shot during summer 2025 in Ukraine, Poland and the Czech Republic by Kathryn Pinto. Produced by Czech civic organisation Signum belli 1914, which researches forgotten stories of Czech soldiers during the First World War, it arose from collaboration of larger community of organisations and people from the Central Europe dedicated to commemorating this part of our history, which is sadly forgotten in our part of the World.
